Hi people!
I want to convert my v6 vp commodore ute (manual) to 5.7 litre v8 (manual). What would be the proper way to go about this? (What's involved) cheers

5.7 litre v8 (manual)

LS1 or 5L based? If it's 5L just find a donor VN/VP V8 and swap everything.

LS1 into early Commodores has been covered a lot here (use search) an elsewhere but it's still a fair bit of cost and effort, there is a lot of off the shelf stuff for it though. Will largely be the same process for all VB to VS conversions, so have a look at earlier ones too. If you want it to be road registerable you'll also need to talk to an engineer (you should do this before you commit).

Suitable ls donor car + conversion kit after you've done all the research/googling required.

Work out what your true budget & mechanical capabilities are then you'll know you can do it or outsource labour

Have done both 5 litre & ls swaps...both have advantages & disadvantages.
