V6 Vy not charging

Hi all , I have a 2002 vy v6 , that Doesn’t seem to be charging the battery, but battery light is not showing ( but battery light it working with key in ignition before starting)

any ideas what this could be , or should I just replace alternator and go from there ?

Thanks for the reply , have checked with a multimeter and the fault is intermittent, sometimes it reads 12 others 14 , so will give a new regulator a go

It should read a consistent 14.2 > 14.4 Volts [approx.] when idling,
When you switch your headlights on, it will drop to 14.2V,
but change to 14.4V to compensate for the voltage drop with the load.
