hello all.

i need an opinion on the casting date on my block.

i read it as oct 1998 making this a vt block.
but there no screw holes to hold the spider cradle in place for solid cam setup.
is it possible this is a very very late vs stroker?

anyway attatched pic bellow for dates.

thanks guys

where did the block come from? as in did you buy it as a bare block or see it removed from a car.

I would guess it's a: 29 oct 1988

Well it has to be 29 oct 98 then!
what is the first 2 letters of the engine number?
'VL' for VR-VS stroker block.

VT model V8's have a prefix of "VN" so it can't be that,
but I did find that the 220kw optioned VT stroker was prefixed "VP" and the optional HRT blueprinted version of that engine (230kw) would probably have the same "VP" prefix too.

Do you not have the engine covers for it? that surely would have given it away?
