Here in lil ole NZ older V8 Commies seem to be way cheaper than their Ford XR8 counterparts....Wasnt long ago the Holdens and Fords were floating around the same price range...lately seems the Fords have had higher ask prices....
Looking at this OZ listing seems some folk want top dollar , Mine had similar Kms when I bought it 5 years ago but the price is out in space compared to what I paid. Maybe its the HBD plate that bumps its ask?.... (current gtree listing)

I'd like to thing you're right but I reckon I'll burn through lots of cash just buying basics to live on instead.
Like - you know stuff like food.
Now the inflation genie is out of the bottle a lot of business are using it as excuse to up their prices to make more profits. Corporate profits are at an all time high so obviously not all of the price increases are simply businesses passing on increasing costs.

I got mine for $8990, 79K on the clock (at the time) 85k now. Not bad really, but I have been looking at car sales since this post and have seen yea the v6's with triple my ODO for another 3-6 grand on them. Making me think I could flip mine for a bit more haha But I wouldn't be making anything, I've spent probably close to 2g getting it cleaned up
Sweet deal...You're right, there are some idiots trying to sell clapped out Executives for lots of money!

I think you will find that its the rough ones that are bringing low $. A good one will still bring the big $. Because getting a junk one to a good one is big, big $.
They still aren't cheap but even rough SS Commodores couldn't be found for this cheap a few months ago...

Really? In Australia, the Ford V8's are much cheaper than the Holden V8's... You can find a manual BA XR8 for $12-13k in reasonable condition...

That’s it hey. And I know it’s easy to say, but I drive this like a grandma and the work I’ve done to it has only helped make it run cleaner and breathe better. Still gotta touch up on a few things like new hoses and bearings etc. but I’ll be keeping it for a while aslong as it does me well. I got my go karts for racing

Cheapest factory manual BA here at the moment ...176kms xr8 manual....$29.999.00... there is another listing for 195kms for $15000.00 but its not a factory manual its been converted to 5 speed manual ..... (from NZ's most popular website) 2001 AU2 XR8 AUTO 326k asking $8000 would be NZs cheapest AU at moment...there is another with lower kms 240k asking $6000 but its not roadworthy (no wof ,rust and crack in windscreen) Cheapest v8 Holden currently selling at auction has bid of $2530.00 VY2 LX8..it is roadworthy...(has current wof. auction is yet to finish) Next cheapest has an ask of $7000 2001 ssv8 auto currently live bid at $7300 183kms ,theres another asking 7k but it has no wof (2003 ss sv8) (source...www.trademe.co.nz) NZs most expensive Holden on the site, 2017 gts-r Walkinshaw 557 ,(23000kms) $280 grand... 2014 Ford fpv gtf 20000kms $179900.000
Holdens winning the most expensive at the top end of the market.... today...

Been floating the idea of offloading mine. But if prices are headed down, I might hang onto it.

It’s only done 9000kms and in as-new condition, so I’d like to think it’s still worth a bit, but with the market all over the place, who really knows.

Nah... Keep it because the cars I'm looking at are at the cheaper end of the scale and your Senator is worth something...

A lot of the ridiculous prices for cars and parts are a product of Facebook group fishbowls. Everyone works themselves up about how much their shitbox is worth, with a group of people egging them on.

Increased interest rates means there might be some very good distress sale purchasing coming up. No way half the people on these FB groups are splashing out on 50-100k+ HSVs without finance.
