V8 conversion - column shift ute

gday guys converting a V6 VR ute to V8 and keeping it on the column. I know the linkages will fowl so Ive been told they need to be pushed/punched into the firewall. Has anyone done this and can be a bit more scentific about what's required? thanks

My experience with column shift linkages, is they can be a **** to set up.

I used a cable (Turbo 700) but that was on a v6.

Already been done...someone on here did it to their vr/s few years ago.

Should be a thread about it somewhere.

You basically wont know what is required untill got driveline dropped in then get a good look at it.
