If the battery has 13+ volts accross it while the car is running then I'd think the alternator is ok. Disconnect the battery and make sure it is 12 volts. Also check that the fluid is just over the plates in the inpection tubes. If it is lower than 11 volts after an hour or so then it isn't holding charge and you will probably need a new battery.

I'd fix the auto, **** off the gas and get it running right on petrol.

your motors hard to start because the converters not been tuned properly, had to fix up a f350 (carby) over the weekend which had the same problem...

13.6 is normal, try turning all your lights (highbeam, radio, etc on then check the voltage.... otherwise thats normal.

Engine performance can be governed by the automatic transmission, in any v6 or v8 auto the car should glide with minimal pedal travel, first thing to check is fluid level and condition. If there both fine then your most likely up for a rebuild.

What exactly is the auto doing, slipping, being sluggish, locking late (converter) ????
