V8 Supercar engine 5L or 6L?

Was in discussion today with a few guys about the V8 engine the super cars use, some say its a revised 5L but i also heard its a 6L any one know?

they all 5L. "holdens" in V8 supercars run chev motors, have done for ages. larry perkins was the last guy to persist with the 304 holden motor, dunno when he switched to chev but im pretty sure when him and rusty ingall won bathurst in 97 in the castrol vs it still had a holden motor

They all 5L run "Holden Motorsport 5 Litres" and have done for ages. Last Chev was run way back in '05 (might have been '04) in the VY's.

ah true, the "anatomy of a V8 supercar" book i've got (i think thats the title) must be outdated! do 304 heads/internals/bolt-ons fit onto these "holden motorsport" motors they run now?

No. They are completely different to the old Holden 5 litre production engine. The only thing they share is being approximately 5 litres.
