TV3 news NZ just confirmed no Ford team/sponsorship after 2015, Ambrose back for the last race and possibly the end of the V8 engines as they aren't relevant any more. Even DTM is apparently dropping the V8 in favour of a turbo 2 litre........ :(

Looking like the GT cars are the threat which is why V8 HQ has put their compulsory day on the Bathurst 12hr day.

Maybe we will see a change from 'V8 Supercars' to just 'Supercars' as a branding when they have to let go of the 'V8s only' idea.

Go the Bathurst 12 hr. A far superior race than V8 Supercars.

Was recently looking into going there for it but couldn't find any affordable accom. (not counting camping).

It's getting full 12hr TV coverage so that's a TV day for me.

Back in the days of going to Bathurst in the '60s, '70s and '80s, we started off staying in Bathurst its self at the Victoria Hotel where some of the race crews stayed.......will never forget '74 the year of the BIG wet when Gossy who was staying there won that wet race...........What a party not to be forgotten.

Later on we stayed at Blayney or Carcoar in old pubs that are not all that far away on the highway. Might be worth a try??????
I'll be watching it on TV and I do truly hope that Beretta has nothing to do with the Ch10/1 telecast with his screaming.

Thought of the other towns but prob want to come and go from the track.

They'll have to get better commentary than the bits I saw on TV last time. Watched it mostly streamed on the net.

The updated rules package was released today which opens up the series to 2 doors and different engine configurations.

Apparently Lexus are already in "high level talks" for 2017 potentially using their RC F.

So same chassis, same aero, "Parity" engines. Why don't they drop the different badges and just race the same car.

So they won't be able to claim 'v8' 'Supercars' like I predicted earlier but still all same chassis etc recipe.
