Hi I have a 1989 VN SS (factory Atlas Grey 5 speed) which I am slowly restoring. The first step is getting it roadworthy and over the pits. Only thing I have left to organize is to solve the issue of the car not idling. I have traced the issue to to rubber caps on the throttle body vacuum ports being cracked and perished. If I manipulate these around, I get idle back, but not for long.
So I went to Holden spare parts and the guy at the counter just stared at me like a stunned mullet. So I asked him to talk to my mate who is the parts manager and he told me they're not a standard cap and the vacuum lines they are blanking off are actually meant to be for something.
So my questions are.
1. What has been removed/bypassed on my car?
2. Does anyone know of a place that would make these caps?
Below is a photo of the vacuum ports on the throttle body and a photo of the two caps.
Cheers guys.
