Well i was wondering if anyone has had the pleasure on removing valve springs on a v8 (not a 6) on a VH or K, C, B

Im mainly interested on how some of you guys have done it when it comes to doing #7 cylinder valves by the booster??

The rest of em are a peice of cake to do as ive done them already.

Is there a certain tool you have used??

Cheers

There is a lever (bar) you can get (or make) that bolts to the rocker pad.
It is levered from the opposite side so no where near the booster.
Might hit the bonnet tho.

How much does it hit the booster by?
Could you un bolt it from the firewall/pedal and push it out the way far enough?

the one ive got is a 3point pivot spring compressor and has a shaft that threads onto the rocker stud....it doesnt get anywhere near the stud as its too large with the booster.
cheers

i didnt even notice the booster, and ive done them a twice in the VK due to poor spring choice.
i looked at your suggested tool and had an inovative idea with my existing one and pulled it appart and just used the compressing foot with a few washers and used the rocker locking not to compress the foot onto the spring.

getting the spring out and off was easy.....trying to compress the new dual springs to get the valve locks back on was a complete c#nt.
took me 1.5hrs to do the #7 spring change and set all the rocker lash to 20thou

thanks for the idea...big help!
