VR Senator Replica (VR Executive) fully swapped.
It seems I cannot find an answer anywhere, but I have purchased a vats out memcal to remove the need to disable my immobiliser, yet i still need to press the button on my key, anyone have any advise on what else needs disabling?

Thanks

You still need matching bcm & key fob on later model cars

You only disable vats when doing a conversion or putting memcal from another ecu.

Yes, so its a 94VR with 95VS Senator running gear, I have had the ECU and memcal swapped over, but had to also purchase a different BCM and FOB. If I understand what you are saying correctly, I would need to find a car, and purchase the ecu with memcal, and the BCM and fob then send away the memcal to have the vats removed in order for it to properly disable the VATS?

Cheers!

Why do you want to disable vats?

If you had a matching set, there would be no reason to disable vats.
But then there is the tune on the memcal, does it match the engine?

Just the key it comes with is a bit sketchy, the buttons have worn away, and to get new ones is about 300.
Plus it just adds more components that could fail which Id rather remove! The memcal and ecu is specifically for a v8 304 if that's what you mean?

Cheers

I'll give an example.

Car is v6 you do v8 conversion you still use your bcm & key but have vats disabled in memcal otherwise you need matching key,bcm & memcal.

Is car vr v8 or v6?
Vr is different to vs certain things do not interchange only create issues.

Car was a factory executive VR V6.
It was swapped with a VS 304, and at this point basically, everything was changed so, VS 304 ECU, and VS BCM I know this was changed as the BCM is a 149 High, which I assume didn't come in a v6 exec.

I changed the ECU to an uprated VS 304 which came with it the VATS out memcal, the BCM that came with the car when I brought it (post swap as I brought it with the swap already complete) fried itself so I replaced that as well . , and it came with the fob.

So right now I have a VR With a VS 304, with a VS ecu and vats out memcal, that was not the one that originally came with that motor, as well as a
149 Hi BCM and fob that also didn't come with the motor orgininal, all sourced separate.

Hope that answers your question,

Did you also install VS dash wiring ?
VS and VR BCM pinouts are diiferent.

I found this out when installing cruise in a VR using a VS cruise patch loom and VS wiring instructions.
