1979 VB Commodore
Hi everyone,

I'm a fellow lover of commodores and just added a 1979 VB commodore to my collection. I remember my mum having one of these when I was a kid, but never owned or drove one myself. I have noticed that plenty of air always blows out of the 2 centre vents (unless I shut them off), hardly anything out of the side vents and there is no heat at all. Can someone explain how the fan controls work? I'm going to give the heater core a flush out in case its blocked. Also, with the fan speed, has anyone experienced problems with the slide control? Mine doesn't always work..

Not to sure if they are the same as a VK but if it is then you might have to take the control
out and give it a good clean up
What I mean by that is to use some methylated spirits on the sliding contacts.
At the same time you can see if any of the vac lines (5 of them)are off or broken.
Just make sure they go on the correct way as they are numbered
It's a fiddly job but it can be done.
Good Luck.
