When the motor gets warm the the front section of the interior centre console gets warm, so warm that if you leave something on it it too gets warm to touch, could this be the heater stuck on? if so why does the console get warm?

Sounds like the heater is stuck on or the flap for the air con under the bonnet is stuffed.

Im leaning towards the flap is stuffed altho the temp control does not go all the way home on the cold side.
Is it a big job getting to the flap to check?

Flap being stuffed would heat the console right, otherwise the console should not normally get warm?

i cant say for sure any precise temps. a messy way to check the flow is take the return line off the radiator, start the car and put it in R. if there is plenty of flow then fluid will go everywhere! lol. maybe exhaust all options B4 doing that, but you may be surprised how much heat the trans will generate and it is right under the console.

but yeah, i could be totally off the mark.

I would say the exhaust is creating the heat, unless your trans is low on oil and is getting cooked. My Vks get pretty warm too as long as its not hot to touch and not getting so hot its able to melt stuff i wouldn't worry too much just keep an eye or rather your hand on it.
