Hey can anyone help.
put new timing gears, gaskets and balancer on blue 202. Just started it today and now I have a hollow alloy sounding knocking noise. It sounds like something is hitting.

After years of owning FC-EJ Holdens I have modernised to a Nov 82 build VH SLE . I have searched the forums but am struggling with deciphering the body ID plate. Can someone please give me a hand. Plate as follows:

VH8VX69-381
Body. 580832-A (I understand this bit)
Trim. 1982-27Y
Paint. 2B 008-D
Built. Nov 82

Engine. L36 (4.2 blue). Trans. M40 (trimatic) Axle. GU7 (2.78:1??)

.. NOT the real thing, GMH never released any VB with a turbo engine
but possible dealer or aftermarket fitment

Some uc torana's were sold with turbo. Sle/T

Not sure if it was dealership thing or just aftermarket kit subbed out & fitted for them.
Dealerships did lots of funky things on cars to sell them back in the day...

With Holden strange things could happen depending on who you knew & the dollars willing to spend.

How would one find out if ya build is rare or not ?
