Just a quick thread to show my rig.. Or actually just do I can ask questions in here and ask for parts rather than try to deal with the pain that is the wtb section on here! When I bought car: Progress: Mods are Super low springs All new bushes everywhere 304 accessory swap Refurbed interior Twin 2.25 into 2.5 exhaust Holley 650 Hdt air tray Manual steering swap- in shed still to do Filter through bonnet- in shed still to do Replaced all globes inc console to led but dash- ( dash to do still) Custom parcel shelf with basic stereo Removed gas kit Line locker- in shed still to do Lots of other little touches, any questions just ask Power is 125rwkw after custom tune CURRENTLY CHASING A SET OF ULTRA LOWS PLEASE ^please pm me! Any input or ideas by all means throw em my way. Next up after the ultra lows I plan to widen the interceptors to 8.5" wide with big dish and fo some panel smoothing etc. Long term is t700 with either a tuf 11:1 308 or a pd blown 304. Question: other than whipple and yt what valley blowers are there for the 304s? Cheers, Aaron.
Looks great mate, been waiting for some pics of your ride How hard was the new carpet install been meaning to do it to mine for a while but was wondering if it's a big job seems like all you would need to do is remove the seats center console etc and pull it up and replace with the new molded ones??
Ha ha not a fancy ride bro. But Needs more low asap. And Correct... I got a thicker, plush one piece carpet as it looks and feels quite a bit nicer than the thin two piece factory. I'd say it's easily worth the effort
Love the VC. Are those the 16 inch chaser wheels that i have heard about? I'd buy those Super lows seeing as you are getting Ultra Lows but I am in Qld
Cheers.. Yea their the 16" chasers. They look ok now but with an extra 1" of dish I think they will be tuf as Postage isn't much if your honestly wanting a cheap set of sl's.. I just gotta score some ultras first!
Also I finally got my ass around to fitting my chrome radiator resivour tank today.. It's not where I wanted to put it as my Trans cooler lines were in the road but it looks alright IMO.
About time you started a thread on this one. If your going for the JDM look, why not go HDT flares and 10 & 12 inch chasers FTW.
Ha ha yea I just didn't want it to be a "look at my boring car" thread.. But I need the input and help! I considered the flares but don't think I will. Yea this is hopefully gunna be a jdm/euro muscle styled vc. Trying to prove you don't need to turn a holden into a yanko to be cool
Hey mate just wondering...what center caps do you have on your stockies i need a set that will fit mine those look nice.
Dude this Thing is coming along mint and the overflow looks mint man i think iv seen one of them somewhere lol
Thanks bro, and cheers for overflow hook up Wouldn't say mint but once I get the ultra lows and put filter through bonnet it will at least be tough! Me and the wife just bought our first house and are rennovating it so cash is tight on this now Hence the hunting for second hand ultras and hoping for a painter to do my bonnet cheap or for parts/electrical work Upside is the vc now has a large double shed to be stored and a seperate work shed again! So next month or so il start to pull panels off and hide all wires under bonnet.
This is a great looking VC. What size tyres did you have on those 16" steel rims? Great work with the car.
Also does anyone have the chrome trim from below the drivers headlight? I'm chasing it for my front end? It's all I'm missing for my front..
vc sunroof just reading through your thread and noticed you are looking for a vc sunroof. i yestrerday looked at one on ebay and sent some pics to the guy i wanted to install it for me. he has suggested i dont buy it as it is the same roof they but in early bmw's and merc's and you can no longer get parts for them. be careful when you are looking at these items. they are cheap but may cost you a truckload more if you cant service or repair them. he suggested chasing a sunroof from a bmw circa 1987. i hope this helps.
Yea very good info mate... Don't really feel like putting one in and it breaking irreparably.. Have u looked to see if there's a new aftermarket one that'd work?
havent chased a new aftermarket as i hoping to get an original one like you. its not really a priority for me but i saw it going cheap and did some homework. the guy did tell me it would have cost between $1500-$1700 to install as the roof needs to be cut (obviously ) and rolled. then of course the actual metal sunroof needed some tidying up and then the roof needed to be painted. all up looking at around $2500 including purchase price. at the moment id much rather spend that sort of money on a few more essentials.
