the car looks gorgeous and can not wait to see the finished product
Some info for you on your car 79 sle tribute car
did you know they actually raced that model in the ATC and at Bathurst and in the group series in 1979 driven by Bob Morris
( motorsport legend back from the day) and am also told Alan Grice drove one too in 1979?
lookup some old pics and not much difference to what your building
so the car, not a tribute car but a real deal 79 sle in race car trim, and trust me m8 is not many of them at all around..
and worth heaps more than a tribute car if all numbers matching 79 sle.
just some food for thought.
as holden was still racing torranas back then( brock) and vc was the birth of HDT.and your car predates them making it worth more than a tribute vc.

Thanks mate, Yes they are some good things going for it for sure, first year these came out, factory matching number v8, 1978, with original engine, once done it will be a brand new car and as my engine builder said the other day "it is now a better build car then the day it left the factory..." Everything is almost new, I still Love the the fact that Brocky signed the car twice, that somehow makes it very special at least to me :)

as is a signed 78 by Brock and numbers matching pre-HDT makes its value historically and $ go up and more special as pre-HDT ( holden dealer team or holden factory cars). as that's the model Brock won touring car championship in (78) AS A PLAIN clothed rally car
YOU GOT A CRACKER AND SOME HISTORY THERE OLDM8..
and makes her special to a lot of us too that know the history surrounding her and collectors .
well done m8 and can not wait to see the end product.
PS to keep it worth good $ dont go ape **** on donk mods and overkill her as she is what she is and thats what makes her so special.
( have sle seen turned into mockies we call them- brock tributed cars.
And if had have left historically correct would have made money but once he changed and mixed bits around lost value and cost more to build at the same time.
well done once again and will keeping an eye out for the finished product as it is one special car you have.

Hi all, the panel beater mate is planning to have the car sended down , kit fitted etc by early August, from there hoping to get it other mate that owns the spray shop, he will paint it and fit the stickers etc the only issue is that his misses got unfortunately diagnosed with head tumour so I cannot push the car on him, from there plan is to take it to mechanical to get all the new running gear installed and running good, the plan is by Xmas to be done!
