Do a REVS or PPSR check on the vehicle. This will let you know if it is the correct kilometres for it, if it has ever been in an accident, any finance owing on it, or if it's on the WOVR etc etc etc.
There are still a few older low kilometre cars around if you look hard enough and put some time and effort into searching for them.
My VZ 1 Tonner is a perfect example.
I bought it in January 2013 with just 47,800 km's on it, it was a genuine one owner vehicle with full service history.
And as of this weekend just gone, it's now just ticked over 55,000 km's
