VE 2009 SV6 Bluetooth problem

hey all,

My old man has a 2009 VE Sv6 Ute. It has the phone image on the steering wheel and the speaker installed above near the light.

He has tried to connect a Samsung galaxy s8 to it by using the steps in the manual and whilst the car was running/stationary/in park. No matter which way he goes about it, it won’t find Vehicle BT or visa versa.

I tried with my iPhone 6s and it finds it but won’t connect and says an error of some sort occurred.

Would anyone know of any issues and fixes to the issue?

It's because of outdated bluetooth protocols.

I had a 2009 Berlina Wagon, and always had issues with the Bluetooth,
but Holden said there was nothing wrong with it, but it was my iPhone,
I took my iPhone to apple and they said there is nothing wrong with it,
I took the car back to Holden, and they said it was still my iphone,
I then told them Apple said my iPhone is operating correctly, Holden said they will update the firmware or the Blutooth unit, and it worked perfectly after that till the day I sold it.
