    Hi

I've got a VE Berlina - travelled 85,000km - had it serviced 2 months ago and since then it has been slipping gears between 60-80kms. Took it back to get it looked at, they couldn't find anything wrong. Last night it started making whining noises and revving really high for no reason. Today I got the big 'X' and Contact Dealer warning.

I've had the car towed to the dealership but I'm wondering if this is a common problem and whether it can be repaired or whether the gearbox will need replacing? How long does it take to get something like that fixed? I've only had the car 6 months so not very impressed.

    Thanks!

sounds like it will need a new box takes about 2 days at the very most to do but
often they have to wait for the new gearbox to arrive as there are so many different ones in ve they always have to be ordered in
the big x means the auto computer has recognized a bad fault or a dangerous fault or a fault that could stop the car running
could be anything really that caused it even a little bit of crap getting into the valve body when it was serviced or not enough oil
