Definitely my dislike with VE Commodore is outward visibility, not that a VX Clubby is any different looking out the back window. My wife has a 2008 Forester, far better to drive when it comes to visibilty, great all round visibilty plus big mirrors compared to sedan type cars.

I imagine not too hard to substitute the Calais heated blind spot mirror if you really wanted as well, about $150 a side.

Pretty sure I have read previously, and the ebay link suggests the same, that blind spot function comes from an external sensor (near corner of rear bumper), it isn't all self contained within the mirror itself.
Edit, this is one particular feature of a VF that I would like on my VE, in saying that of course it doesn't help with the intrusive thickness of the "A" pillar.

Interestingly that kit does come with the rear bumper sensor. I wonder if it's worth pulling the car apart for...
