In the US they passed a law about a year ago all fuel tanks had to be forward of the back axle the reason was they were having so many rear end collisions and people were getting burnt to death with the tank at the back, so if the VE has it rear of the back axle I would say it must because of a new ADR.
What are you saying Ronaldw? Sorry your post a bit confusing. Are you saying the boot is smaller cause the VE fuel tank is behind the rear axle?
VE has the fuel tank in front of the rear axle - effectively under the rear passenger seats. It's a "saddle" design that sits over the top of and then down the sides of the driveshaft.
