@lout
I guess those are the Brakes !
:p

When you replace the Globe, just check the Contacts in the Fitting, and see what colour they are ?
Mine were black, so I cleaned them with a small piece of wet & dry,
So I was thinking, was that the cause of the globe/s failing,
either resistance, or arcing ?

When you replace the Globe, just check the Contacts in the Fitting,
they were nice brass colour
but i feel they could have been another 0.5mm higher

Ahh, Thats interesting,
As mentioned, mine were black, as I was expecting mine to be of a brass colour,
So I cleaned them, and will see if that makes any difference

Are the roads that you commonly deprive on corrugated? Vibration and jarring will shorten the life of incandescent bulbS, particularly if they are on when being vibrated or jarred. Jarring from speed humps can cause bulbs to blow, so it’s usually a good idea to do all the braking before the speed humps, and be off the brakes while riding over it.

I used to have the centre brake light go fairly often on my VX wagon. Part of the problem was that I had my foot on the brake while someone else was (slam) closing the rear hatch. After a few bulbs I quickly figured out what was happening.
Yes. I’ve had this happen with the headlight bulbs looking under the bonnet at night. Shut the bonnet and one of the headlight bulbs ’blow”. That’s when I realised that bulbs are quite susceptible to shock.
