VE calais error code po500 vehicle speed sensor

any advice. car seems to misfire and sputter when accelerating. RAA guy did diagnostic test and came up with 2 errors .. po304 cylinder 4 misfire
and po500 ... vehicle speed sensor fault . he suggested the 2 are related and replacing sensor may fix

The car's vehicle speed sensor(VSS) input comes from the ABS module via CAN Bus, the ABS module gets the vehicle speed from the four Wheel speed sensors (WSS). There are a lot of different things that could cause a misfire but its highly unlikely a single cylinder misfire and VSS fault are related, more investigation needs to be done, start with the basics coils, plugs and cylinder compression.
