Hi guys, Been reading a lot of Ve sub related threads and I couldn't find the exact answer. Just wondering if anyone could help me out. Would it be possible to tap in to the center speaker wires and use the wires to connect the subwoofer? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

i own a ute so i have no rear speakers to tab into, but i used the center speaker for the sub wiring. I just soldered onto at the harness, very simple.

Yes and no... Because its only half of what the amplifier is expecting to see, it will result in your amp gains being up a long way. Use the rear outputs ideally.

As for a ute... Rear speaker outputs can be activated through engineering mode in the head unit. So a bit of a search and you will find it. Never done it myself though.

Cheers man, How is it in turns of sound quality? If its not that good I think I'll have to do what Tasmaniak said.

Hey mate, i got a series 2 ute and when i had my first sub setup i tapped into the center speaker, i just crimped spade connecters onto speaker cable and connected it into the center speaker plug

Sound wise i just recently upgraded my whole system and tapped into the doors and it was 100x's better quality wise so i would advise doing that but yes it can be done but you'll have to set your gain up alot more than you should have too

From what i can remember the center speaker uses the left and right speaker input as an average, thats why it sounds so **** and out of phase best would be to is to use a LOC on the rear very ez to reach from the boot or if a ute on the fronts you will have better sound out puts into the amp, cleaner sound even if you are just useing it for bass
ps if you havent already disconect that shitty center speaker best thing you could ever do

This is true for the "lower spec" models but IIRC, the SSV / CalaisV etc with the "premium" sound system have a true dedicated centre channel for the centre speaker. Hence why it sounds acceptable in those models. Well, relatively speaking anyway. :)
