VE Commodore Wagon Series II
Hi Guys,

Got an issue which I'm having difficulty getting resolved. I purchased my wagon in 2015 and had a reverse camera fitted by SSV. The camera appeared to have died, would flicker and only show a black screen. SSV replaced it with a new camera which solved the problem of the camera not working. However upon the camera being replaced, the guide lines that display are now no longer parallel. They are crooked.

After much to and fro, SSV believe it's a car related issue, and Holden tell me it's a camera related issue. I am not having any luck just getting my reverse camera back to the way it was before.

Any advice from anyone would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Steve

I know you can buy reversing camera with built in guide lines. Very inexpensive on ebay.com.au

I was looking for a listing and saw this picture. comparing it with yours, I notice that your camera view seems to be distorted like the ccd is not aligned with the covering lens. I think you have a faulty camera.

I have seen these cameras advertised as having the smart grid lines built in.

Grid lines are there regardless of the camera. Try disconnecting the camera and see how the lines show?

When the camera is disconnected, the crooked grid lines remain on a black screen... but Holden can't tell me what is actually wrong with it :-/

Camera in the housing is not straight.
There could be a flat Earth joke here somewhere.

But it is the camera. The housing may be in line but the camera inside is not.
Pic of camera and mount please...

Well that means the grid lines are an overlay. Holden should be helping you better than this.

I program these units and install/ supply reverse camera kits for all VE's.

Your unit has been programmed as a wagon. The guidelines on the wagons are angled because the camera is mounted on the passenger side of the vehicle rather than the middle.

Sedan - guidelines in middle
Wagon - guidelines on an angle
ute - no guidlines

Thanks mate... my VE is a wagon but before the camera was replaced the lines weren’t crooked, and no other VE wagons have reverse lines like mine are appearing...
