Ve Commodore Issue - Assistance Required

I have a 2007 VE commodore, that is having issues.
Whenever it rains, the car goes into limp mode. My mechanic plugged in his tech2 and got errors relating to the throttle body controller (Throttle body range/performance, throttle body malfunction, throttle lower limit not learnt).
He replaced it with a brand new genuine one and it worked.
But it has rained again today. Same issue, car sputters and revs up and down and occasionally stalling. (Automatic)

He recommends the next steps are to replace the wiring harness, and if that doesn't fix it then the ECU.

Any suggestions onto what it might be?

What were the codes it activated ?
Without codes, its like Russian roulette, it could be a guessing game,
Could it be just the TB Plug, lose or damaged PIN, highly unlikely, but worth a look,
I can not see it being a whole loom,
Its a guessing game for him now.

So have to think logically,
What gets wet under the car to cause it to go into limp mode !

Where in "Australia" are you located ? as there maybe a JC member that maybe able to assist you. (Ie: Could scan your car, if your willing to travel) that could point you in the right direction of the fault.

Just an idea because mine faulted the same.
Refit/jiggle the trans plug at rear of trans. mine worked. Known fault, did mine and all good.

If the above doesn't resolve it:
Water getting into the engine harness plug maybe?
It's near the steering column shaft in the engine bay, near the brake booster.
I might have a photo somewhere.

either way, disconnecting both, get some Contact Cleaner in there and maybe some dielectric grease around the seals and reconnect?

They both have some sort of non conductive grease in there.

...give you a refund for the unpaired fault.
Then actually start diagnosing the problem rather than guessing, at your expense.
If he can’t find a problem he shouldn’t be replacing anything.

The symptoms you are describing happened to my exhaust oxygen sensor. Randomly the revs would go up and down - and for what you are saying only when it rains makes sense as the sensor is under car on the exhaust. If it works OK when dry then maybe when raining the plug boot/casing is cracked allowing water to mess with the signal that the sensor usually sends to the ECU computer and if this signal is not within the specific range for vehicle speed, revs etc then it may cause a stall condition.
