i have a ve 3.0ltr and was wondering if anyone could help out or had any issues with starting. the fault does not occur all the time but when starting the engine has cranked over and it seems the starter motor is still running for like an extra second or 2, the rev's also rise slower till when it seems to disconnect. the computer has shown no fault codes, would be good if someone could tell me the exact location left or right side (near the transmission to engine i assume ) any ideas would help ......... thanks

The slip ring on the starter motor doesn't disengage the flywheel, iv got the exact same issue.... Happens more when I start the car after an hour or so of sitting there... Overnight and when it's sitting there for ages Its fine, iv never had the issue looked at properly, but I have heard of some people say, it's due to a dying battery, and the voltage isn't enough to disengage it straight away...

do you think it would be replaced or looked at under new car warranty (or is it just one one those things you just leave), the dying battery should not be the issue for me as im running 2 70Ah batterys in the boot (main and reserve via an isolator), and yesterday hooked up a new ctek charger and charged them fully and this happened that night. And as mentioned above its correct as it happens more like after an hour after of sitting there, not over night

If your Under warrantee, no doubt take the vehicle back and get It looked at, then let me know also!! Could be as little as a software update in the control module that supplies power to the starter motor, or a new starter motor

Hi, sorry to bring this up again. 3.0lt 2010 omega series 2 This just happened to me the other day, Exactly. It cranked longer than normal and i got scared and just turned the key off. Waited 10 seconds then turned the key again and the car started fine.
Wonder why it is doing this?
