I am looking to take my VE Calais on the Indian Pacific between Adeliade and Perth and then drive it back to Melbourne.
Just wondering if anyone has done this, as the Indian Pacific website says the ride height has to be higher than 13cm to ride the train.
After doing some research it seems that the Omega/Berlina rides at 11cm and the Calais rides at 10.6cm.
Can anyone shed some light that this will/won't be a problem.

    Thanks

If train website says 13cm.... it's 13cm dude. If they said "at least 11cm" or something less specific like that, I'd give it a go. But 13cm is a pretty exact number. Why put it on a train? No car carrier companies that do that journey?
It kinda makes sense, train carriages are pretty high... and to get a car with low clearance up there you'd need an awful long ramp.

What about these guys? They say they can do SA to WA... Car Transport

I have seen some pretty low cars go on there by taking of front bumper (EVO 9) and making ramps. But not sure if this is a day to day thing or they make allowances. Best bet is give them a call and see what they say.
