Use the key to manually unlock the boot then hook a jumper pack to the battery and try unlocking it then

There should be a boot release behind the back seats. Pull the center seat down and it should be a yellow release on the drivers side.
I think they also have jumper points in the engine bay on the passenger side you can use to jumpstart the car.

Edit: unless you can't get in the car at all?

U can jack the car up, hook a jump back to ur alternator wiring positive and ground, that will feed the car battery to get in,

My VE has a key hole in the offside front door handle. I would have thought the key would open the door/doors manually so as one can pull the centre of the rear squab down to get to the green tag in there to open boot.

Jump start tags are under the bonnet, not in the rear near the battery.

If the racv haven't figured out how to get into it yet theyre useless.first you need a small wedge to open the top of the door ( i used a blood pressure tester and pumped it up, also does no damage) so you can get the wire in. Then manually unlock the inner door lock above the handle with a piece of wire with a nice little bend on it. Once that's done pop your bonnet and put the jump leads on but be ready with your key as the alarm will sound immediately.
Hope this helps I left my keys in the boot so had to figure it out myself

Had this same problem today on my WM Statesman - closed the boot while no battery was installed. Here is the solution:

    a) Unlock drivers side door with key
    b) Reach around to passenger door and unlock by hand from the inside
    c) Reach around and open passenger door from the inside
    d) The back of the back seat is three leather clad panels. They don't come off. Insert your hand into the crease next to the centre panel on the drivers side. About two thirds of the way up you will feel a loop - insert finger - that's the boot release.

    Fixed!
