Dealers will always do that mate. If you want what it's worth, sell it privately.

VE SSV
06 ssv manual $32k Purchased 6 months ago, private. had 53,000kms. I was happy to get an 06 model. Has nothing wrong with it, and saved some $$$ for upgrades :)

I guess I will just have to wait and see.

The only reason I say I wanna go to a dealer is because I'm most likely going to salary sacrifice it...in other words lease it. By the time Im ready to buy I will have to get a 2007 or newer because the car cannot be more than 10 years old at the end of the lease term.

Will see how we go. I don't wanna spend more than $28k. Other option would he to get a personal loan and buy private which I definitely should be able to get an SSV within my price range by then. Will just have to re asses the finances then.

I did the same as K-Man - I got my 06 SSV in June 2010 for 33k....

My main advice would be to look around and dont be afraid to walk away as there are heaps around... I say this because often these cars are driven by people who like to give it a hard time (not always) but its not worth buying such an expensive car that is going to cost you more in the long run because the previous owner didn't take care of it... I think I drove about 7 SSVs before I bought one and I was lucky enough to find one that was a family weekend car (they had 2 daily drivers) so it only had 53,000k's on it as well as I assumed the guy I brought it from wasn't going to hammer it with his family in the car but I did get it professionally looked over for 2.5hrs (about $220)

Let us know how you go / feel free to ask any questions about the car ;)

When you do get one I'm sure you will love it!!

Cheers,
Chris

I wouldn't pay more than $28,000 for a 5 year old SS-V. If you end up leasing go into any negotiations with your finance already organised. More bargaining power that way.

ve calais v a6 v8
Hi I paid $29000 aug 2010 for my 2007 v8 calais v at a dealer after some negotiations it had 60000km i think it cost around $60000 new. This year i would maybe get $25000.I don't think you will have a problem finding a ss v .I look at carsales.com.au for used prices.I wish holden had better resale. my last car was a vw polo and after 3.5 years i got $18500 after paying $28000 new.But if my calais had better resale i could not have got it for what i did.

Nice choice ;)

Just curious though - Whats the condition like - colour (both outside and inside) - Dealer/Private??? Just interested because I like keeping track of what they go for and $25k seems like a great deal for an SSV (when you are buying lol)
