It was actually pretty difficult to get an indicative screen grab as it seems to oscilate quite a lot, which means each screen grab looked quite different.

Car Stats:
L98 V8 Calais V auto
APS Tune (Engine & A6)
Sureflo 1-7/8 SS extractors
Balistics cats
Di Filippo 2.5" dual SS cat back

The best fix for getting rid of resonances / drone in a stock VE auto is to get a tune. The stock tune is absolutely retarded. It tries to put you in 6th going up a steep hill at 50km/h.... pure lunacy.

This is with the car idling at the lights. Definitely no audible resonances at all from inside the car. The car has a nice lope to it.

Normal acceleration up to 60km/h. Very nice burbly V8 sound. Doesn't sound like resonance at all.

Slight resonance at 60km/h with slight incline and slight acceleration to maintain speed.

Normal driving at 100km/h on the highway.

Slight acceleration up incline at 95km/h to maintain speed. Again it sounds louder but not necessarily what others would call drone.

Hmmm, do you notice the 108hz - 116hz peak on the highway cruising (closed loop) 100-120kph? Hard to tell whether the peak is loud vs other engine noise from these graphs.

You can tell it is a V8 at cruising speeds. Nothing too intrusive.

The car never really drones as such. There is resonance if going up an incline and it strains in the current gear without kicking down but even then it isn't really a drone.

I think of drone as things rattling and your head feels pressurized / nauseated etc. Not sure what others consider drone.

This is what it sounds like idling.

EDIT: The sound quality is **** from my phone, but there you go.

NOTE: The phone makes this sound much more droney than it really does.

Although the audio quality is not great and the phone makes it sound a lot worse (droney) than it really is.... hopefully the vid above gives some indication of what the Spectrum plot above it is showing.

Is it possible next time you are on the highway that you sample the actual peak DB peak at 100kph, and 110kph that will typically be 1750-1900rpm. Part throttle, level cruise, closed loop.
That's the drone zone members complain about drizt, the noise under load / acceleration is kinda manageable with your right foot and a tune, yes.

What do you mean by 'open loop' and 'closed loop' ?

Sure, i'll check out the peak db and report back.
