I have a Auto VE sedan with around 50000K's and today whilst doing some work in the garage I notice this weird-ass beep from under the bonnet. Sounds like its coming from directly under the plastic shroud thingo over the engine. The car has been turned off for a few hours and every 20 - 40 seconds it makes a 2-3 second beep - almost sounds like my motorcycle when I switch it on and the electronics and fuel injection charges/cycles.....any ideas? It cant be normal......right....?

Did you find out what this was? I have exactly the same issue. It is quite a hot day and the car is outside - I was wondering if the heat had anything to do with it? I have only driven the car in and out of the drive today and that was hours ago.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
It is the throttle body recalibrating after ignition shut down.
It will have a high pitch sound followed by a clack noise as the butterfly in the throttle body opens and closes.
