Hi, I have just replaced my 2007 L98 v8 caprice engine with a second hand one. It won't start. Nothing at all. I have lights, radio and reds. The dash is throwing lights leveler not working, abs fault, brakes, and big X contact dealer. I have used my original wiring loom and auto gearbox. What am I missing. Please help. Thanks

go over all connections make sure everything is plugged in and check all fuses also, if just engine changed and kept all same sensors should work, usually if it does nothing at all then its being stopped by ecu, check what codes may be there as any sensors not plugged in will show up

Everything appears to be plugged in. When I first tried, the abs and calipers were not on. I have since tidied it up, but still the same warnings on dash. I have a basic code reader, but it doesn't have any stored codes. I will check all fuses tomorrow. Is it possible the brake warnings are stopping the ecu from powering up?

not sure if it would stop it or not but would be in reduced power mode without the abs connected

I plan to check the fuses, then see if I can do a master reset in engineering mode.

Did you also use the original ECU?

I just got it started. I think the immobilizer was stopping it from starting. Just closed and locked the car with the key button. Unlocked it and boom she fired straight up.
    Thanks for the help
