Gday there I have a VS and bought a set of VE Series 1 18s to fit on there. I know I have to get the hubs machined but I've also got the issue that the 245/45s on there won't fit under the stock shocks. Can I fit the VE front shocks or do they have a different mounting setup coz I really don't want to run lower profile tyres than what are already on there coz of potholes n rough roads round where I live.

Any help or ideas are appreciated cheers.

No. IMO get wheels that fit and are 18 or 19 x 8", and I think you'll be much happier with the end cost and result. Remember that around 17 x 8" is the best street/circuit and comfort wise.

I wouldn't recommend having tyres that are thinner in width than the rim. And if the overall wheel diameter (rim + tyre height) is larger or smaller than that of the original ones, the speedo will not read correctly. And you could have fitment issues.

I think you should just hold off on fitting the VE wheels, and look at some 18x8 wheels with 235/45 R18 tyres. That way they will bolt straight on, be the exact right size, you won't have any issues or have to change anything. Plus, wheels and tyres in that size will be cheaper. The speedo will be correct and and the car will handle/ride better.

How about you search and you would of found you had to run a different tyre.

You can get VE front coil overs on a VS. It has been done but it's a bit of stuffing around with the top strut mount.
