as those of you who are aware the second gen of VZ's the glovebox light was deleted. i had a look at a VE the other week but cant remember if one was fitted. can anybody confirm this for me please. also what else do you think the VE is missing compared to the VZ? i know safety items are newon VE, but this is only for interior for driver passanger comfort. i know that rear reading lights and front ones are missing if we were looking at omega SV6 and SS. the saab style cup holders gone ........... any other comments

I think they've gotten rid of the airco'd glovebox in the Stato and Caprice. I've one in my VS Stato!

glove box light

There is a glove box light in the VE (Calais), I actually broke it trying to get to the back of the Blaupunkt head unit to wire an amp for my Subwoofer (kicker).
Couldn't tell you what I think the VE is missing compared to the VZ as this is my first Holden.

Mind me asking how much you paid for your awesome Calais VE drive away? :)

Is yours V6/V8?

$47990 (includes 1800 extra for Calais v rims), then add stamp duty, rego, etc.. you can work out the actual from there, I've had it for 3 weeks now.

Drives nicely I have to say, use to have an Alfaromeo 156, big change going to a Holden, and I've got the V6 3.6L

Any advertised price in Australia must be advertised with GST included or itemised with a total that includes it. If not, it's illegal!

I have my VE Calais drive away quote sitting on my desk:

VE Calais Automatic 3.6LTR Alloytec V6 Engine: 41,354.55

Leather, 8 way seat, memory, heated mirrors, curtain airbags: $2,727.27

Dealer Delivery: $1395.00

Amount subject to GST: $45,476.82
GST: $4547.68 (sorry, I know it's obvious to most but thought I'd list it anyway)

Rego, Compulsory Third Party, Stamp Duty (ACT): $2429.60

Drive Away price: $52,454.10

This is the price for a private buyer. After I apply fleet and government discounts and take off my VX S trade, my drive away change over price is actually: $31,000.00
