VE GTS and VF R8 comparison?

How does the VE GTS and the VF R8 compare (mainly engine wise)? Which would you choose and why?

Engine wise don't really see major differences with ls3 especially if intend to lightly modify to make them nicer/better to drive.

However the differences between ve & vf are lightyears apart with vf you notice the moment you hop in

One mate had 40th Anniversary Ve Gts while another had Vf R8 Clubbie both modified in different ways.
