Update: I have gas. And its in my ac system. I hung about while they tested with nitrogen, pressure held.
I then went for a walk..
After pickup I had my little digital temperature meter, very very cold, -1 to 4.

Air flow, it's like a 80's hair commercial.
My new favorite settings will be slightly different, as above diy is possible.
Go mad. Save a few dollars.

Yes Dont forget to turn your dial to the FEET ONLY before you turn your engine off and lock the car or leave it unlocked in your house and when you come back you turn the ignition on, lever the Electronics to do it bit and tell you the system id OK then start the car, few seconds later the Air con is ON then turn the selector from feet to my face. By the way I dont rush when I put the key in and turn the Ignition on, I let the car check the car is OK then start the car

Yes this is what I have done (the above) and it still works perfectly till today. Works about 98% of the time.

VE Series 2 Wagon
I've just noticed a weird problem with the VE I bought a couple months ago, I'm getting that "not blowing air from the front middle vent", but instead of it being cold or A/C, it's when it's meant to be hot air. I'm getting hot air blow on the feet, windscreen vents, just not from the front middle, but if I turn the desired temp down (it's a Dual Zone VE series 2), cool/cold air will blow out of the vent. I've turned the car off with the vents on feet in case that works, so I'll see how it goes in the morning. I tried the re-learn thing a couple times, but just saw the posts talking about it with the car on for the higher Vs, I've only tried it with the car on ACC so far, and not running.

Just thought I'd mention it while it's fresh in my mind, I'll report back once I know if it either works, or not works if it helps anyone else with the upcoming colder weather and having a similar problem(s).

Good work… lots of work…

Imagine if you had to pay some mechanic to remove the HVAC to fish out that $2 coin, what a cost that would be

I’ve seen aftermath of a mechanic nipping pliers on a bonnet strut shaft just to boost their work and parts sales. So lets hope those types of mechanics don’t start the shitfuckery of dropping coins into customers vents with the aim of some very profitable repeat business :mad:
