Ve ssv ute
Hi..
I have had my sons ve ssv ute keys changed over the years for different reasons.
I have it stored at my place..the battery went dead and now I've charged it the red lock on dash comes on without ignition on..
I only have a stand alone key..it opens door and turns ignition but will not start car..
Most auto electrician are saying 500 plus to key it

Hmm. The battery is replaceable. Easy to do.
There should be a master key and then secondary keys.
It is possible the transponder reader located behind the column shroud is playing up. However I’d be looking at gathering all your keys together and getting Holden to reconfigure the keys into the BCM in appropriate order.

Actually, come to think of it, when you swapped keys did you cut the bonded transponder out as well?
There is the circuit board and then there is the small transponder that’s glued into the key body.
If there’s no transponder, the key will open the doors and turn in the ignition but without the transponder there, the reader keeps the car immobilised.
