Dear Members,
This might be of some interest to Members that a worried about who has Keys to their Car !
Recently a customer asked me to program in a new Key, as he had lost one, as he was unsure where it was lost,
I Programmed in a New Key for a Customer [Customer Supplied the Key Head]
Taking into account he already had 2 Keys Programmed in to the Car.
So I then did a Add/Re-program of the Keys he had on hand,
and they both worked correctly on completion.
Low and behold, he found his lost key a couple of weeks later, and so he then tried it, and it didn't work,
out of curtesy I programmed it back into his car, and he now has 3 working keys
So what I am saying, if you have either lost a Key,
and/or you were only provided 1 Key or 2 Keys when you purchased the car, how many were actually Programmed in ?
Maybe opt to get your Keys Re-programmed in as what I did for the above customer.
Because if the Key is either found, or the old/original Owner of the Car you have bought it from, could came and steal the car back, as they have your address from the Transfer Papers you both had to sign.
[Similar to changing the Locks when you buy a house, you don't want the old owners wandering in]
