VE LPG Wagon
Hi,

I have just bought a dedicated LPG VE Wagon which is often very slow to start. It does start every time, but can take up to 5 seconds of turning over to finally ignite. Once started, it runs great.

I replaced the battery yesterday to rule it out as the original was at around 50-60% capacity.

What should I look at next? Spark plugs? Starter motor? Or could it be more likely an LPG problem?

Cheers

Dedicated system needs to be primed,so,before you start, turn the key couple of times(slowly, but don't start )then start the car. Also, replace the gas filter.(you can get one only from LPG specialist)NOT from dealer...

Thanks for the reply! It's due a service so I'll try and hunt around for an LPG specialist to do that bit, thanks. Could spark plugs be a possibility? I don't know when they were last changed, but don't want to keep throwing money at it if I don't need to.

Late start due to priming process, don't think you need to replace the plugs, but, would be a good idea to get the system checked out by lpg specialist.(specially primer solenoid).

LPG needs a higher voltage to fire so any weak spark will make it hard to start, coils and plugs may be a start but like was said change the filter first and see how that goes.
