Hi, does anyone have any figures or feedback on how the 25mm manifold spacer affects fuel economy on the VE? Especially the 3.0L.

On our LY7, I found no real difference in fuel use before and after.
I did find a big improvement in how nice it was to drive.
Would recommend to anyone thinking of getting one.
I changed to using two sets of gaskets, rather than using sealant. I trimmed the tab off, which was easy to do.

Hi Kman42,
I hope all is well on your end :slightly_smiling_face:
Unfortunately, we don't have exact figures, however, generally improve fuel economy by .5L per 100kms. Hope it helps.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Kind regards,
Michael

Which gasket did you use? The metal or paper

Metal. Trimmed off the silicone lug to get the fit. Much better option.

I used some side cutters to trim off the required lug and and sanded it smooth. Then wiped it clean with aerospace 303, which also keeps the seals in good condition.

Figure out which lug to trim first. I set it up on the spacer like a sandwich. The whole “Measure twice, cut once” thing. Just to idiot proof myself.

I think it's just easier for me to use blue silicone

I did it because it really bugs me when removing the manifold, I’ve got to go clean this crap off making sure it doesn’t drop down into the ports.
Way too fiddly.

With the gaskets, it’s no fuss.

Took me all of 3mins or so to modify the gasket.
