The torque range was already awsome though? Much better than the Ecotec, L67 and buick engines.

90% of torque available from 1570 and 5870rpm on the VZ, which is a massive 38% wider than the torque range on the VY L67 engine.

with regards to fuel prices, I only drive my VT Calais on weekends mainly or if its really **** weather, I drive to work. Instead I ride my mountain bike, save sh1tloads of money from riding instead of driving, also keeps me fit.
Also, to get to work its along FTG road and it passes along the Eastlink Project Site, which has ridiculous traffic congestions.
