Ve omega Acceleration problems

Hi everyone I’m new to just commodores, thought someone may be able to help, I have a 2008 ve omega, with 135,000 kms, and has always been serviced. For as long as I can remember the car has given me a certain annoyance but I’m noticing it more and more now, when at about 70kms/hr or higher I try to make it downshift hard with full throttle acceleration it won’t rev past 4,000 rpm and just seems very sluggish, no matter how aggressively I floor the pedal. The transmisson has had oil and filter changes every 20,000, and I was told by transmission specialist gearbox was fine last time it was there, there’s no fault lights coming up and it’s not running rough. is it just a characteristic of this car or is there something wrong

-thanks for the advice about the throttle body on my VE Omega about a week and a half ago, I bought another one and it’s fixed the problem, the car seems to have a bit more punch and response than before

I have a omega Ute series 2 with 80000km it doesent rev past 3000 could it be a chip that they’ve put in to stop burnouts or what I’m so confused, RTA had it brand new before I got it I purchased it with 45000km and it has done it ever since, cant be the throttle body it’s micky mouse.

I highly doubt it's got any "chip" or a tune limiting this.

Does it rev past 3000 at anytime even whilst in neutral or park for eg?

Either way, do you have access to a scan tool which reads live data?

It doesn’t rev past 3000 at any time, I have no idea why and nah I don’t man my brothers got one for his Holden Calais but doesent work on my car

My brother has a series 2 VE Omega sportwagon, I’ve driven it a few times and thrashed it a couple of times, it drives differently to my VE Omega series 1, because his car I think has the 6 speed transmission and mine has the old 4 speed, when I thrashed his car it revved out pretty good, it had no problem whatsoever reving past 3,000 rpm

Really that abit weird mine cuts out when it hits 3000 and just sits on 3000 if I hold my foot down, I can’t skid it or anything it’s bullshit, I guess that an omega for you, just a shitty car to buy all together
