    Hi all
So I was driving to get lunch and as I was leaving the drive through I noticed on the display that the battery saving mode on I drove back to work parked up and sat there eating lunch and after about 5 minutes abs fault popped up on the display and repeatedly popped up and the stability control started turning off and on repeatedly and then the a/c started turning off and on repeatedly so I turned off the car and tried to start it again and it kicked over and shut down and wouldn't kick back over and on the display was contact dealer any ideas would be great thanks

Time for a new battery and or alternator.
    How old is the battery?
Best to charge the battery then test the alternator

I will put my money on the Alternator,
Because the same faults happened a few times to a couple of friends cars,
I organised a replacement aftermarket alternator each time, :)
    The rest is history ;)

Side Note: if the battery is 7+ years old,
I would replace that, because that is the heart of your car,
And you don't want to get stuck again at the most inconvenient moment, and you can not use that excuse "Battery is Flat Boss" to many times :D

Thanks I've got someone coming over today/tomorrow to check the Alternator and battery out.
I put a new battery in just to see if it would work and everything seemed to work properly but I am going to wait to get it looked at before rushing out and getting a new battery

All the warnings come about because as the available voltage drops, the computer will start disabling parts of the system to save on power.

My bet is a faulty alternator causing a flat battery.

Hopefully it’s a just the battery.

Make sure the new battery has the vent tube connected up so it’s not off gassing in the car.

Are you aware of engineering mode..you can access battery voltage and charge through there

Anyway How'd you go with getting it looked at?

I'm still waiting for it to be looked at.
But yes I just checked engineering mode and the battery voltage was 12.8 when idling and 13.5 when reved and the battery charged is at 9%

    I third that !
in the VE's, the idle voltage should be approx. 14.2 > 14.5 [or there abouts],
Anything below that, it will be the Alternator,
Before you go out and buy one,
Series 1 & Series 2 Alternators are a little different, as the VE internal electrics I believe are also a little different,
but there is a big difference between the V6 & V8's, they are not interchangeable,
There is a part number on a silver sticker on the side of the Alternator,
or on the back if it, on the rear bearing housing.
You maybe able to use a phone camera to get a photo of it,
Then you can use that as a cross reference for a after market unit.

What would you think mite of caused it.
Cause now it's working fine and I've done nothing other than take the battery out and put it back in and it has sat for 2 days to it battery is charging and holding charge I've put a diagnostic tool on it and no codes are coming up.

So what’s going on here is either a battery problem or an alternator problem.

If the battery checks out, then the alternator would be the problem.

I thought my battery was good recently, it wasn’t and I was about to get the alternator sorted. Gut feeling still says the alternator but time will tell I guess.
