This is just a little preview, im still waiting on the custom molding dash piece to be finished.
I also need to think of somewhere to relocate the old screen.
    What do you guys think?

Looks interesting mate. What tablet is that? You could mount an SV6 screen in the coin tray... if it fits. Also how do you plan on getting your air-con vents around the tab?

I think we need to see a bit more than this to be able to judge how good it is going to be...
(All that I can see so far is that you have removed the top stack trim, and you have sat a tablet (android) device there).....

To do this properly, you would probably want to remove the radio stack, and try and get some Single Wire CAN stuff going on to control the HVAC.
Then feed the audio output of the tablet to an Amp for sound....

Not necessarily, He could just have the tablet hooked up to the rear AUX and a 12v to USB charger. It would not really be integrated however it would still be cool as long as the facia looks good.

I have seen some very custom fascias made for Double DIN...
Here is one such preliminary example

Notice the HSV triple gauge holes at the top of the fascia, and proper double DIN mounting

The concept is cool but I'll wait to see the final product to make a decision.

Sorry for the slow reply. The molding is in works, I had to outsource it but it will look professional.
It is a samsung galaxy tab 2 7".
It is going to be using the rear aux and powered by the car.
I also have a nice obd reader so I can use Torque.
