2008 VE Omega 60th Anniversary
Hey Everyone, don't slam me for this question.

Basically I own a 2008 VE Omega 60th Anniversary.

Basically it has the most basic stock stereo, and I want to know is it possible to swap it out with 07/08 Ve Calais stock stereo which has the touch/colour screen ?
Its the same shape, so new trims and changing the air-conditioning pipe direction is not needed.

Each module in the cars electrical system is VIN matched, meaning, it has loaded, the Vehicle Identification Number of the vehicle in each one. The Headunit is one of these. It communicates via the CANBus system with the BCM etc.

If you are to change it, a technician needs to go through some procedures to change the VIN loaded in the module (in this case the headunit) to match yours, so your car's CANbus system can communicate with it.

The headunit you have an eye on is not touch screen, just colour.

For similar money, I'd be looking at an aftermarket headunit though. Aerpro HVAC facia and double DIN headunit with CarPlay or android auto and welcome to the future.
