Today I purchased a Cheap VE 2009 Anniversary under $2500 with 140,000 k on the clock to eventually replace the VR 1993 that has well and truly over 300,000 K's on the clock. The car in general is fair to good except that some idiot damaged the passenger quarter panel that will cost around $1000-$1200 to fix.
Now The Panel beater and spray painter will fix that but the car come's with no battery (used the owners boat battery to start and test it) so I would like to know what battery is used for a VE V6 Auto Anniversary. Does the VE use a CALCIUM Battery like the VF V6 uses or does it use a normal standard run of the mill lead acid battery.
    Thanks

I just recently purchased a replacement for my 2012 VE Wagon.
And you have to get the correct one to suit.

It's a DIN battery. Just go to your battery shop and ask them to look up the correct battery for the VE.
I use the VE V8 battery to give it extra cranking power ;)

Look like you have to get the correct size too. Wonder if the sizes from the VF V6 are the same

Funny thing is I have rang REPCO Supercheap and Autobahn and NOBODY knows the term of CALCIUM. All they can tell me they sell this or that brand for the VE 2009 V6 and that it. As It stands the Guy at AutoBahn with the best info told me they sell plenty of them for the VE and it a SUPERCHARGE brand Model MF 55H

Ring holden & ask them for the correct battery. Asking doesn't mean you have to buy of them.

May I suggest you take a look at ENIRGI batteries.
They are in Yatala and Gold Coast.
I purchased a 3000 model, top of the range for my '09 VE 6 in November 2017.
The price was good with a three year warranty and they are without doubt an excellent battery.

I'm pick the Car up today arvo so on Monday because the weekend has the V'8 and the F1 I will miss some of everything so not to miss more motorsports I will buy the new Battery + Oil.
Now OIL!! On the VE 2008 V6 (Not 2009 like I stated) do you uses Dexos oils like I use on the VF V6 and what grade 5W-30 or 10W-30 or other.

I don't care about dexos labels but it is some reassurance when you are new to the area.
I use Synpower 5W40 and like it. You can also use 5W30. Just stick to full synthetic in a good brand like Synpower, Edge, Nulon, or Penrite HPR or Enviro.
IMO it depends on the type of driving you do. For long trips and hard driving I use the 5W40 for the last 130,000 Ks and it's smooth as.
