I bought the car cheap and as I dont have the car yet I dont know whats in the Glove box but I do know the owner started the car for testing with another battery from a boat.

May I suggest you take a look at ENIRGI batteries.
They are in Yatala and Gold Coast.
I purchased a 3000 model, top of the range for my '09 VE 6 in November 2017.
The price was good with a three year warranty and they are without doubt an excellent battery.

I'm pick the Car up today arvo so on Monday because the weekend has the V'8 and the F1 I will miss some of everything so not to miss more motorsports I will buy the new Battery + Oil.
Now OIL!! On the VE 2008 V6 (Not 2009 like I stated) do you uses Dexos oils like I use on the VF V6 and what grade 5W-30 or 10W-30 or other.

I don't care about dexos labels but it is some reassurance when you are new to the area.
I use Synpower 5W40 and like it. You can also use 5W30. Just stick to full synthetic in a good brand like Synpower, Edge, Nulon, or Penrite HPR or Enviro.
IMO it depends on the type of driving you do. For long trips and hard driving I use the 5W40 for the last 130,000 Ks and it's smooth as.
