VE positive terminal fusible link, dealer only?

From the hours of googling theres only really 2 reasons these fuses go. 1. What i did and short it out. 2. They corrode because they are too close to battery acids (the nissans are really bad for it by the looks)

I read this again (2) so the fuse your talking about is at the battery end not the engine end?
I would think there is only one fuse?

Yeah it was on the positive terminal. Its usually under the big red plastic cover. There's 2 fuses on the one peice. One side seems to go to the electronics and the other goes to the motor. I popped the motor one so i had the dash and everything else come on, but turning the key did nothing at all.

I hope this picture embeds. This is the Toyota 86 version, but the VE one is identical apart from the fuse ratings. You would assume that you could unclip the clear plastic covers and replace the fuse part, but the fuses arent replaceable, so you have to replace the piece as a whole.

Just had a look at it in the back of the wagon is the same.

My daughter's VE S2 sportswagon had blown a Fusible link.

Using the part number provided above I could get one for $53, but I paid $7.20 for a Narva 60A Mini Fusible link p# 53660BL and soldered it in place!

1. Removed cover from blown Fusible link and cut what was left off, and the cleaned it up

2. Cut top of plastic off and cut Fusible link link out and flattened it, and then bent trims over so that it would sit on flat wires left in battery terminal.

3. Big Soldering iron used, need for heat. I used the holder of my small one!

4. New modified fusible link placed in Battery terminal ready for Soldering

5. Soldered both ends and both sides making sure enough heat allowed solder to bond correctly (No dry joints)

Finished, pics of both side with the Narva packaging underneath
