    VE SV6 Z-SERIES SPORTWAGON
hey all, i've been looking at getting a sv6 z-series sportswagon. I actually had a deposit on a 2012 plate nitrate sv6 for the rrp of $37,990 minus $2500 trade for my vx acclaim. They got our hopes up as there were 8 of them around the nation and 3 in vic at which the salesman said he was extrememly confident getting one as they always give cars to vic. i'm in windsor, western sydney btw. anyways, in the end they didn't get me the car, and it took me to call them 2 days after the sale had ended to actually find this out, and then they said there's still one in adelaide that they will find out if it's available the next day. 2 days after i had to call them to ask for my deposit back and 2 weeks later i hadn't gotten it. at which he said "oh you didn't email us the bank details, but i've got word that the 2013 will go down to $40,990 so i can get you one of them in any colour". at which i said no thanks. so a week later i got the cheque in the post.

fast forward to now. I really want a sportswagon still. and am prepared to pay $40,990 for one, provided i still get the $2,500 trade in and that they throw in some options for me. I am after a tow package, roof racks, bonnet protector, headlight protector and sv6 sill plates. Do you all think I've got a chance of bargaining all those options for that price? and how do i got about it, as they whole "i'll go buy this car from these people" tactic won't really work as there's no real alternative to a sportswagon.

    cheers,

    Matt

$40990 is the current Holden offer price. Not sure what dealer margin there is in NSW, but in WA these prices leave about $900 margin. The extras you're after cost about $1400. You might get a dealer to do this, depending on how eager they are to sell you a car and whether they've actually had a real $2500 for your trade in. You also get 5 year factory warranty and roadside assistance this month also, fully funded by Holden.

Sat nav is rare as not too many people take the option as it is such a deplorable system.

When I looked my dealer in the eye and asked if he would get it if the car was for him even he said no.

    MY12.5 SS-Z Ute Manual
It's true. A dealer told me this and showed me the internal Holden bulletin when I priced up a MY13 SSZ ute in early Feb. Basically the same style wheel in silver with charcoal / dark ports.

In the next few weeks, I intend to investigate the figures of moving to a run out VE.

If the price is right, I'll probably move now and put off considering a VF until early 2015.

If the price is not right, then I'll stick with my 2011 MY11 SV6 manual with Calais instrument cluster until around mid-2014 and then consider the VF.

I'm very happy with the MY11, but always keep my eye on upgrade options.

    2013 VE SS-V Z Sedan Perfect Blue
Well it looks like my VE SSV Z may be the last VE V8 built. I just finished talking to the dealer and apparenty Holden had not given a build date because they were not going to build it. Holden then called them back and said yes we will build it but no build date set yet......so now I am just waiting to here back from dealer with build date. I ordered the car on the 21/2.

We took an order in December for a Calais V V8 wagon. It was supposed to be built early February and then it slipped further and further. Customer got frustrated waiting and we just converted him to a VF. Not saying that the same will happen to you, but there are extreme part shortages on some models. We have just ordered for May production, which only lasts 2 weeks and they are only building SV6 Z auto sedan and wagon. We've been told to take no further orders on any other models without approval.

    Good luck

Well, I looked, got a good deal and have upgraded from my 2 year old VE II SV6 Manual to a 2013 SV6 Z Manual. That will put a VF back a year, but the deal was too good to turn my back on.

Everything going pretty cheap, tried to price up a sedan and they only had Black and Silver left, but going at 33990 2012 plated.

Ended up picking up a 2013 SV6Z 6spd manual in Alchemy (prestige paint $500 more) for 34990.. but it was the last one in vic.

There is no doubt colour selection in the VE SV6 Z is becoming an issue in the MY12.5 run out. I had to look around to find the colour that I sought because the dealers I approached could not help me. In the end, I found what I was looking for in the country.

I got a very good trade in, and an extra discount on the new car.

I paid 37g for MAN SSZ ute in white. brand new btw.. saw a SSVZ demo for same price but had almost 6k. The latest offer of 3yrs free servicing then capped at $180 for the next 2yrs. New car warranty for 5 yrs its such good pricing! New model will easily be an extra 10k

    VE Calais V
    For what it's worth.

I know it's an older model, but I picked up a 2006 VE Calais V V8 for 20K recently (less with interstate rego refund), had 37,000km on the clock, one owner with all original receipts etc. Originally I was looking for a nice WL Caprice or International, but came across the Calais and jumped on it. Flew straight to VIC to pick it up within 4 days. Besides the suspension issues I've been ranting on about, the car is in great nic. Really happy with it, and perfect price and Km's to suit my budget and needs. Still haven't come across another like it that cheap, so that makes me happy. No doubt once the VF arrives my car's value will drop $5k, and you'll be able to pick up a '09-'11 model for $20K, but I couldn't wait as I needed a ride, but that's life. In saying that though, I was shopping around online for a long time before I found the Calais and the VZ range were still priced pretty high. Hopefully the VE range will be similar and retain some of it's value.

I look forward to hopefully doing the same upgrade with the VF in 5 or so years.
